(RECAP: The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority will receive nearly $6.3 million in federal grant money for capital improvements, HUD announced today. A group of 28 housing authorities from across the state will receive a total of $30.4 million. “This funding is critically important in helping Virginia’s public housing authorities provide the best housing possible for their residents,” said Jane C.W. Vincent, the regional administrator for HUD’s Mid-Atlantic region. Richmond’s grant was the second largest in the state, trailing only the $6.9 million awarded to the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority.)
